A comprehensive whole home renovation and addition transformed this Coquitlam residence with a contemporary new exterior, reconfigured living spaces and a warm, modern interior. Expansive windows, custom millwork and thoughtfully integrated finishes create a home that feels open, connected and tailored to everyday family life.
This extensive renovation reshaped both the interior and exterior of the existing home, combining a substantial addition with a near complete rebuild and reconfiguration of the living spaces.
On the main floor, the layout was opened and reworked around a new kitchen and family room. The kitchen pairs warm wood cabinetry with crisp white finishes, a generous island and a dramatic quartz slab backsplash. Custom millwork and integrated storage keep the space streamlined, while expansive new windows bring natural light and views of the surrounding greenbelt into the home.
The adjoining family room features custom black walnut built ins and a contemporary fireplace, while a former den was transformed into a spacious mudroom and the original laundry room became a full bathroom with a walk in shower. At the rear of the home, an enlarged deck with a partially covered vaulted roof and integrated heating extends the living space outdoors and creates a year round connection to the surrounding landscape.
Upstairs, additional square footage allowed the existing layout to be substantially reconfigured. The primary suite now includes a generous walk in closet and a spa inspired ensuite with a freestanding tub, glass enclosed shower, floating walnut cabinetry and expansive windows overlooking the trees. The upper floor also gained a dedicated home gym with large windows, a spacious new laundry room and ten foot ceilings that enhance the sense of openness throughout.
The exterior was completely renewed with new siding, roofing, windows and doors, along with a redesigned front entry and contemporary architectural detailing. Behind the finished spaces, extensive structural and foundation work supported the transformation, while new insulation, wiring, a 200 amp electrical service, air conditioning, a tankless water heater and heat recovery ventilation modernized the home from the inside out.
The result is a home that feels entirely new while remaining rooted in its original setting, with the addition, interior spaces and exterior architecture coming together as one cohesive transformation.
