The family had a clear idea of what their dream home should look like. They wanted separate living spaces for the daughter’s family and the parents, two kitchens, two laundry rooms, several bathrooms, a basement office, plenty of outdoor deck space, and a unique design to highlight their garden.
Our team collaborated with a renowned design firm to bring the Nunotanis’ vision to life. Through careful planning and a deep understanding of the family’s needs, we constructed an initial budget that catered to all their requirements while ensuring maximum cost efficiency.
A notable aspect of this project was the suite on the main level, specifically designed for grandparents. Placing it on the main level was a deliberate decision to avoid having the grandparents go up and down the stairs. However, this posed some challenges regarding fire safety regulations for separating the suite from the rest of the house. We overcame these challenges through careful planning and consultations with the city building officials.
Following the detailed blueprint, we embarked on the construction phase. Extensive preplanning, including ordering materials and scheduling various trades, was essential to ensure a smooth workflow. The construction phase unfolded over 11 months, creating a modern, multi-generational living marvel.
The project surpassed the Nunotani family’s expectations, giving them their dream home in the very place their hearts have been rooted for years. “You guys have built our dream home,” shared the delighted family. Their children could continue their lives with minimal disruption and the bonus of growing up close to their grandparents.
With this remarkable home transformation, the Nunotani family now enjoys their shared dream – a perfect blend of independence and communal living. Their satisfaction is a testament to our dedication and commitment to delivering homes that embody more than just structures but are treasured spaces for nurturing lifelong family bonds.
