A Dreamy Kitchen Island With a View for Six
When you have views like this, it makes sense to have window-facing seating at your kitchen island. And for homeowners who love to cook, it makes sense to make the island the MVP of the kitchen — handling storage, food prep, entertaining, dining in, and generally anything that requires stretches of unencumbered space with lots of natural lighting and a stunning view to boot.
Achieving perfect kitchen island bliss didn’t happen instantly, however. We removed two load-bearing walls along with all of the mechanics inside. The pantry had to go, too, in order to make way for the island. The island features a handcrafted trough sink from Kohler. The on-demand hot water system means no tank storage, which means more room for pantry items. Thanks to that and a carefully planned vision, not an inch of storage space was lost. Another reason we’re calling this island the MVP of kitchen!
The island may be the MVP of form and function in the new space, but the new wall of windows showcasing the incredible view is definitely the MVP of style and beauty. A large beam was installed to make way for the 16’ span of glass in the exterior kitchen wall.
With two dishwashers, a built-in French door fridge, a high-end 6-burner gas range, Caesarstone quartz counter tops in the kitchen perimeter and a custom-made dining table light fixture, the kitchen turned out to be the MVP of the entire home!
